MDS Coordinator

I have been given an opportunity to work as an MDS Coordinator at my facility that I currently work as a charge nurse at. No LPNs throughout the entire company, all 15 facilities work as an MDS Coordinator. My DON and administrator pulled some corporate strings to get them to let me have a 90 day probationary period for the job. My DON and ADON both state that they will sign the necessary sections that require an RN signature.

I have about 2 years of moderate MDS experience from a prior facility. I'm trying to be as confident as possible as I jump into this position, this is something that I really want. Does anyone have any tips for transitioning into this role? Are there any other LPNs out there in this role?

well you will have to become RUG certified, if you are not already

cms.gov or DADs website has links for current requirements, guidelines etc :)
