Has anyone heard about nurses working withtransfering medical records (paper) into a digital format? I found information and know is probably under the umbrella of "infomatics". I also don't understand the terminology used in some articles I have read.

We're switching over to EMR in a few weeks. The only transferring of records will be the medication orders into the computer for the EMARs. We'll start doing our notes on the computer as well. The rest of the 'old' chart will be put in a file cabinet. I think there's a Nursing Informatics group on AN listed under Specialties.
