MD nurses please Help!

I was wondering if anyone could give me any info about applying for jobs in MD while I have a FL RN license. I'm graduating in May with my BSN and will take the NCLEX in FL. I plan to eventually move to MD, but was unsure if employers will consider an applicant without a MD license. Thank you in advance for any help :heartbeat

Hi, If you are sure you are moving to MD why don't you put that down as your location when you take NCLEX? Our market is pretty good here but since you are a new grad, haven't passed NCLEX yet and are seeking out of state licensing it might be a bit tough to get a committment from a facility here. Good luck.

jules, here is my dilemma. i have a job offer at a large hospital where i did all my clinical training in fl. i plan to move to md when the time is right, but i have heard that new grads are having a difficult time finding jobs. i'll be moving to elkton, md.

I would just wait until you know what you are doing because "when the time is right" isn't exactly what you would want to put on your application. :) If you are starting your first job in FL I'd work there long enough to get a good reference and then you wouldn't be starting as a new grad in MD anyway. Not sure where you heard that new grads are having trouble getting work here because I just don't think that is the case. Its not like a couple of years ago when new grads had their pick of any speciality they wanted but there are still plenty of nursing jobs and new grad opportunities imo. Good luck.

Just apply for a MD licence after you graduate. You can live in FL any apply for one I believe but you might have to get your state backround check in MD.

If you have worked in FL for a while i dont think u would be classified as new grad since u would have had some experience under your belt
