in canada
i dont have any idea really how they do it in canada. in the US, a lot of Phil MDs are now here as RN's. i met a lot already. 1 already an immigrant, just passed her step 1 mle.
perhaps the best thing for you to do is call the board of nursing counterpart there and inquire. if u plan to come to the US later, the board of nursing will still have to evaluate the nursing credentials you will submit and will make sure you finished the required nursing curriculum.
goodluck.
Medicine is not sufficient training or experience to be registered as an RN as far as I am aware. You still would not have had any NURSING training or experience. Having said that though, I am sure that it would be a help to the science-based classes and may give you an advantage in applying for nursing school.

Hi! what are the chances of an MD getting into the direct entry program BSN)??? I know in some countries it is now common for doctors to go into nursing.........anybody here have a medical degree and is now a nurse??? I am applying for a nursing program and hopefully ill get accepted......going back into medicine seems just too far out of a reach for me right now and I think being a nurse would not put what I learned in med school to waste. what do you thing???thanks.......
