PP is correct. MDA is an enormous facility in the Texas Medical Center. All inpatient services are in that location - only clinic services in outlying areas. If oncology is your 'thing', you couldn't find a better place to work. They have a strong professional practice model, but you will probably need a BSN to be hired. Oncology certification would also add a lot of value to your application.
Seriously - you need to examine the logistics of commuting. There is no real mass transit system in Houston. We love our cars! You don't want to be stuck in traffic for 4 hours a day - this could very easily happen if you decide to live in an 'exurb' (waaaay beyond a suburb). If you're looking for 'horse friendly' areas with a shorter commute time, look at areas south or SE of the city. On the 288 corridor towards Angleton or down in the Friendswood area.
I have 1 class that I will finish this Winter semester and that will complete my BSN, also OCN will be completed after that so check on those two things before I leave Michigan. BUT I am a huge believer in balance (home and work) also I don't really like to commute, I would rather be close to work but if I had to commute I would. Both of your comments have been very useful/helpful.
Maybe I should also look at UT and/or Dallas area? Just started but you have given me good insight!
Thank you and feel free to send any thoughts my way!

Hello all,
I am an Oncology nurse (3+yrs) with recent Bone Marrow Transplant experience (6 months) and am interested in transfering/relocating to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Onc is my "nich" and MD Anderson sounds and looks as though I could learn a great deal and increase my practice.
Anyone out there with knowledge/experience with working and applying at MD Anderson?
(Pushing towards the Montgomery area to live, we like small towns and we need land for horses)
Thanks in advance; any and all info is greatly appriciated!
