MCPHS Worcester ABSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I was recently accepted to MCPHS Worcester for their Spring 2019 ABSN cohort. I wanted to connect with any other prospective students to see what their living plan is going to be. I live about 1 hour and 15 minutes away and not sure if I should live on campus or not.

Also are there any current students that can tell me what the program is like/what to expect?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi! If you dont mind me asking what was your GPA and Prereq average? Just curious as I'm considering applying but nervous about getting accepted. I have a 3.1 for both

Hi! I applied through NursingCAS and ended up e-mailing them to see when I might hear back and was told my app was processing the next day so it might help to check in! I got accepted the following week. My overall GPA was a 3.3 and my prereq was like a 3.5. I also have 3 years of healthcare experience as a medical assistant. My mom went and met with an advisor on my behalf as I live out of state and was told they look at the application pretty holistically so if they see an upward trend in grades/other things to balance it out that's good!

Hey everyone!

I got accepted to the spring 2019 cohort :)

I was hoping to meet my fellow classmates on here and what is everyone's plans as far as housing goes?

Hello all! I have been accepted as well. Is there a fb group for the Worcester cohort? I am also looking for housing buddies!

I've only seen the one for accepted students that's like, everyone in every program for the upcoming semester but I haven't seen one specifically for this cohort!

Hi! I created a fb post for our cohort specifically. School starts soon-ish so it would be helpful to find friends, roommates, and study buddies! Log into Facebook | Facebook

Hi! Look up "MCPHS Worcester ABSN Spring 2019" on fb for our specific cohort. Will be great to get to know people before school starts!

Sent the request to join! :)

Hello everyone and Congratulations!! Im in the cohort before you and I will be more than happy to help anyone answering any questions in regards of the program!!

Hey girl!

-for the uniform, are they really strict on the white shoes? Like they really cannot have a logo (NIKE, Adidas, etc)?

-for our supplies, is it necessary to have our own manual BP cuff?

I'm trying to see what's necessary for me to spend money on :/

That's all the questions I have now. Is there a way to personally get in contact with you??

Well professor Haynes is the skills professor she is kinda of strict with the uniform. If anyone has tattoos need to cover them and the shoes need to be water proof shoes in case of any spills etc. I dont think she minds as long as is white or black and there is no big logo on it. Pressure cuff we have only use it to practice on each other other than that we havent really use it. You can email me on [email protected].

Hi everyone,

I've been creeping a little on your thread. I am going to apply to the Boston and Worcester campus for Fall 2019 and was wondering if anyone can tell me their stats? I currently hold a 4.0 in pre-reqs, 3.46 for my B.S. in Criminal Justice and 3.6 for my Master's in Security Studies from Northeastern. I also just accepted a position at Brigham and Womens as a CNA and will be putting that in my application and volunteer at Children's Hospital. I was wondering if someone can give some insight in terms of whether they think I will be accepted or have a shot?
