MCI LPN Program

Published

Hey All.

Just wondering what I can expect the first week of classes. I start March 30th!! :yeah:

I graduated from Richmond West in February.. I loved it there. I took my NCLEX yesterday and I PASSED! Good luck to all of you!! :)

Congrats SarahWilliams! Much success to you!

Specializes in Orthopaedics.

Good luck. It is what it is.

I'm at the Richmond West location. I had to retake nursing math (to the incoming students, you have to get an 80 or better in your nursing core classes, or you have to repeat them the next time they are offered) so I'll be back in July. I'm glad to be 1/2 done with A&P though!

hello! i'm meeting with MCI this coming wednesday to get some info on the institution and i was hoping someone could give me a heads up on the RN program....

What is the night class schedule?

How much is tuition and what does it include?

What are the qualifications? and what is the likely hood of being excepted?

Do you have to have prior nursing education or experience?

Please help me ASAP! thanks!

What is the night class schedule?

5:30-10:30 M-F, some Sat clinicals when you get to them

How much is tuition and what does it include?

around $30k (tuition, uniforms, books,- although in some classes you will only get the books for that class period since they don't have enough books for the day and evening classes, so take good notes!) You are responsible for the necessary medical forms and transportation to/from clinical sites.

What are the qualifications? and what is the likely hood of being excepted?

You have to have a high school diploma/GED. I haven't heard anyone be turned down from this school. Choose not to go there, yes, but not get accepted, no.

Do you have to have prior nursing education or experience?

No.

Good luck. Where else are you looking?

I just got done talking with the MCI in Raleigh, NC and they informed me that their LPN program now costs $32,000 per year and that even with financial aid I would most likely be paying $180 per month. I am a divorced mother of one, VERY low income, so that monthly payment is definitely not something I can afford.

Lots of luck! I am an RN student. The 5 week mods are tough but if you apply yourself you will do great!
