mayo clinic summer iii 2010

hey I'm a junior nursing student at lake superior state university and I just finished applying to the summer iii program. Is there anybody else out there who has applied??? I live in michigan and I heard that they do phone interviews. I really hope I get in!!! I have a 3.4 and have been working on a ambulance/fire department for the past 2 years as a fire fighter/emt. I hope that helps!! does anybody know when the interviews are done? hope to hear back!!

Dear Laker,

Did you know that Mayo has other summer programs for upper division college students? They have an undergraduate research fellowship and summer help (temp summer job). Contact their human resources dept.

All positions are very competitive, don't know when acceptance deadline is?

do you know if the summer help is CNA type work? or is it nursing work? thanks for the post. did you work there?

summer help generally is not nursing work. Could be anywhere? Labs are popular, pushing wheelchairs, stocking supplies, etc. You likely are getting great experience as an EMT.

hmm i figure ill wait to hear back from the summer iii before i look into anything else. Im trying to think as positive as possible haha. I called today and they said notifications will be sent out by the beginning of February, and yes it's always cold enough! but not as cold as tech im sure.

Hi there! I'm from New Mexico State and I also applied for the program. It seems like they make their decision pretty quick. I'm so nervous because I want to get in so bad! but I'm sure the competition is pretty darn stiff. So do they or do they not do phone interviews?

I called just the other day because I was confused about that profile thing. I thought that there was a phone interview too, but they said that it is some kind of a point system and no interview. They take into account things like gpa, experience, etc... That really scared me because I only have a 3.4 so who knows??? I was told we should know around the beginning of february. Good luck!

I applied for Mayo Summer 3 too! I've been waiting to see if anyone else on here applied. I am so nervous and excited! I'm glad they decide fast because I don't know if I could wait more than a few weeks! My GPA is alright but I don't have any experience. But I'm staying hopeful :) no one from my school has ever gone (i'm from Florida) so it would be awesome to see what it's all about!
