Mayo Clinic Student Nurse Extern Summer 2020

Hello! I wanted to create this thread specifically for those applying to the Mayo Clinic Student Nurse Summer Externship in Arizona. I have yet to see the application for Arizona so I called HR and I was told to email [email protected] to figure out what's going on because HR could not find information about it either ? Hopefully I hear back soon and we can get this application process started!

All they said was that they don’t have the posting dates yet but to keep checking the mayo website!

I thought this was an interesting post to come across. Mayo is a very nice hospital and the people who work there love it. Can anyone tell me if all nursing students who are in their 3rd or 4th year are eligible to apply for this kind of externship? Or are there other requirements?

Hello. The externship is meant for juniors in an accredited baccalaureate program in the third semester of the program. So I am not sure about 4th year students. I applied for Summer 2020 and the application required a resume, writing sample, and a BLS certification. Their application said that they do not take consideration of transcripts, cover letters, and/or LORs.

@Lamt, thank you for letting me know. I was just curious. I bet their externship program is amazing. Also, I meant 4th semester, not 4th year. I hope you get the externship! I'm sure you will. For what it's worth, good luck!

Hi! I don't know how long the review process takes either, but the program starts in May, so I'm thinking they'll make their final decisions in late March or early April so hopefully they pick who gets an interview within a week but I dont know for sure!

Yes judging from previous threads It looks like they set up interviews mid-March and then make decisions end of March or early April. Good luck everyone!
