Hello,
For those who applied for Mayo's Nurse Residency in AZ during the application window of March 4-7th, & did the video recording interview, have you heard from Mayo for a 2nd interview?
So I got a panel interview later this week but I am kind of nervous it's for the med surg/pcu. I'm an out of state candidate which makes me feel more nervous... I have worked as an ED tech for two years and I am graduating with my bsn so hopefully that helps. But I feel like internal and in state candidates might get first pick IDK. Does anyone know how competitive it is? I really would love to work there I'm kind of scared has anyone received an offer or know when offers are sent out? I heard residency starts on July 21, 2025 any info will be appreciated 🥺
That is amazing! They do tend to like applicants who will relocate. Are you already an employee of Mayo in another state? I am not an employee of Mayo but will graduate with a BSN in 3 weeks & have done 2 rounds of clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic Phoenix. My app still says "under consideration" but seems they are pretty much closing up all last interviews this week. I do know of other classmates who got the "no longer being considered" a 2nd week of March. Guess I will just keep waiting until they update my app status. 😅
@Newgrad1408 ICU/ED applicant here, I have not heard anything back yet. Fingers crossed that they are just taking care of the Med/surg applicants first
I did my interview on the 17th for the PCU/ MED surg position. I gotta stay it was very short and it was a good amount of people on the panel. I have not heard anything yet but I think it might take a little bit we might not hear until May. But IDK it was one of those interviews where I felt a little nervous maybe because of it being timed I tried putting myself out there as much as I could in 15 min. We will see! Hopefully I hear back! Good luck to the rest of you!

Dang, sorry to hear that.
I know Mayo just offer about 20 positions for the new RN residency program on each cohort and they get hundred of applicants. I also know they give priority to those who work at Mayo already, have good yearly appraisals, and get education reimbursement for their nursing degree. After giving the positions to those, then they select outside applicants (mainly with a BSN). I know is late to say this but your chances are greater if you work at Mayo already or volunteer. You could also go and work somewhere else for six months and come back and apply but not as a new graduate. Also if you know someone who works there you could ask them to give referrals about you. It's hard to get in and even more if you don't know anyone. It took me three job interviews to get my current job but it's worth it. I love working here and I have worked all the main hospitals in the valley.
Don't get discouraged. If it doesn't happen this Summer maybe end of year.
