Maxim staffing in So Cal (LVN)

Published

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody had any work experience with maxim staffing and their hiring practices....they won't give me any information until I come in for an interview, but since I'm still 6 months from the minimum 1yr required, I haven't gone in.

I was wondering about entry level pay scale, benefits, job perks. Are they good at getting you placed -I need a steady income, and have been very weary of perdiem jobs-?

I'm currently in a good job, but as you all know bills and the ever increasing cost of living necessitates we all move up in pay-scale. I'm trying to move beyond pediatric/in-home nursing agencies and trying to get into a facility; would maxim be a good place to work for potential employers, increased income, and opportunities to enhance my nursing skills (since i currently feel they are going to waste)?

I've found the people in this forum to be kind and well informed, thanks in advance for any help that you may have.

HHA and hopsice and agency is either feast or famine. They will all tell you they have tons of work. They go through staff constantly, however- because thay can't promise work. A benefit of Maxim, they are all over the USA and have been around forever- your check won't bounce. There are fly by night agencies opening every day all over the USA. In Houston, for example, there are almost five HUNDRED of them!

Hire on at several of them to try to assure you get enough hours, and tell them all very clearly, that you are signed with others because you have to have enough hours. If they threaten you, just go find another one. Eventually the few yo are with will give you priority assignments.

Specializes in They know this too!.

I am trying them this assignment myself. I do both hospital and LTACHs so we will see. It is a plus that they are cross country.

I am in MA and was doing a general search about their company.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I was approached by them once for psych nursing--I declined because at the time I had enough work committments. But I would consider going agency with them. I agree that their being established and natural is a big plus.
