I am considering working for Maxim Home Health in North Texas. I had one person tell me they are good to work for, but then I looked on this forum and have found lots of negative comments. Now I'm very nervous to take a job with them. Can any one PM me more info about Maxim? I am looking at the Grapevine, Texas office. If anyone can suggest better home health companies in North Texas that would be appreciated as well. Thank you!

Only work for this company if you are desperate for employment and only long enough to find work with another employer. My recommendation is based upon personal experience that applies to all locations.

even in "shady hh providers" (that's most of them) you can luck out and find a good fit at times, give it a try and see how things shake out.
Are there any websites where home health companies are rated by JACHO, etc., so that a person who is new to this field can make an educated choice about who is legit to work for?

A company may be "legit", but that does not automatically mean it is a good company to work for.
I have posted plenty on my negative Maxim experiences, so I won't repeat myself (much). I think it is possible to have a good Maxim experience....but just NOT likely, primarily because of the way Maxim chooses to structure their offices. Hiring very young, inexperienced men in their early 20's to do all the scheduling and communicating with nurses...just makes no darn sense! Maxim is also more about SALES, than health care.
Each location of any home care chain can be different. For example, PSA generally has a bad reputation. But a good friend of mine is having a great experience working for them. Her particular office seems to have a great crew working for them. See what you can find out about your local Maxim office, but precede with much caution is my advice.
The office I worked out of was JCAHO accredited at the time, but the accreditation had nothing to do with how I was treated. Recently I noticed that JCAHO accreditation was no longer being claimed. No national accreditation list or any other list is going to provide the personal experiences of employees who have good reason to warn about companies that mistreat their employees.
