i don't understand any of it, and they are not teaching it. i guess i should have learned it in highschool? i have no idea, so confused and a bit frazzled at the moment. a nudge or hint in any direction would be appreciated. thnx trixie

Not sure what you are trying to figure out,but if you are wanting to know what these mean, I can help with that.

gr x - 10 grains

gt ii - 2 quarts

pt iv - 4 pints

gr vss - 5 1/2 grains

gr ii 1/4 - 2 1/4 grains

18 gtt - 18 drops

42 mEq - 42 miliequivilent

This are all systems of measurement. Are you a nursing student? If you are and if you have a drug calculation book handy you can look these up. Anyways I hope this helps!

Sure no problem. I am surprised your book doesnt have a conversion chart in it somewhere. Mine has it in the very front of the book.

there are conversion charts to help you complete these kinds of problems. you can download and print them out. many textbooks, drug references and dictionaries also have them in their appendixes. see post #3 on this sticky thread for web links:
