I have another dilemina in trying to solve the following problems ... I have to know it inside out, because my last try is Monday:(.

Oh, I did take the Pediatric Med calc this morning, I feel confident that I passed it. I won't know until later, Please pray for me, everyone....

#1. Order is to administer 300ml NSS 0.9 at 150ml/hr. the drop factor is 20gtt/min. the IV should infuse at _____________ gtt/min.

#2. order: administer 1000ml of D5W at 40 ml/hr. the IV is started Oct 8th at 10am.

How many hours will the IV infuse?_________

What time will the IV be completed?__________

i passed!!!!!!

1. ordered:lr 1200ml to infuse in 11 hrs

drop factor: 20gtt/ml

2. ordered: 1g of celcor in 130 ml of d5w is to infuse over 60 minutes. set drop rate is 100gtts/ml.

3. 500ml of d5w 0.45% sodium chloride is infusing at 75ml/hr per pump. how long will it take to infuse?

Guess what? I started an early thread thanking everyone for all their help because I got and 100 on my Peds Math calcu test. I was soooo happy when I checked my grade today.:yelclap:

1. 1200ml/11hrs= 109ml/hr

109 x 20gtt/60 = 36 gtt/min

2. 130ml x 10gtt/60min = 22 gtt/min ( I think you meant 10gtt).

3. 500ml/75hr = 6.6 ( .6 x 60min = 36minutes)

= 6 hrs and 36 minutes.
