Hello, all. Just wanted to know if anyone here has a Master's degree in Public Health, and if so, what are you doing with it? I am currently in school to obtain mine and I am trying to figure out what to do with it. I definitely want to get away from the bedside!!!!!!! I LOVE wome's health, and i am leaning towards something along those lines.......I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT!!!!!

Generally an MPH would get you a position with your local or state department of health. I am not sure which degree holds more weight if it even does, MSN or MPH. Hopefully someone can comment on the thread who has and MPH with a better perspective.
Thank you. I definitely didn't want to go back to school for any kind of nursing degree, but I wanted something health related. Just trying to figure out how to work in women's health with this degree.

It varies depending where you live, the job market, and your prior experience.
Education, research, advanced clinician roles, infection control and quality improvement are additional areas that someone could pursue with an MPH.
I am currently pursuing my MPH with a health promotion focus on seniors health. I considered an MSN, but neither degree holds more weight and I already have 6 years of solid work experience. I think that is the key to finding your niche with a Masters degree.
I wanted to learn from other disciplines besides nurses. For me personally, an MPH is more interesting and applicable for the work I am interested in.
Some nurses have an MBA rather than an MSN, so it depends on you and the roles you're looking to fill.
