New grad mentorship program.. any information???

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hi.. I am a senior nursing student approaching graduation. I am currently looking to possibly relocate within the Boston area.. I have been looking into Mass General and Brigham Womans and Infant hospital.. I would like to be involved in a new grad mentorship program to help with the transition and to aid in establishing a good foundation out of college. I hear these programs can be really benifical. I know that Mass General has a mentorship program for new grads and has a critical care program for new grads( which I am really interested in). I was wondering if anyone knew any information about these programs at Mass General and if anyone kne if Brigham offered any such programs for new grads? Has anyone been involved in these programs? Would you reccomend them? Pros? Cons? What exactly to they entail.. Any information would be much appreciated... Thankyou:)

Hi! I'm going to relocating to the Boston area in January. I will be in the Nurse Intern Program at Brigham & Women's Hospital. Orientation: 1 week of in class (lectures?), 4 weeks on an unit (getting used to where things are, how to document, etc.), 6 weeks with a preceptor on the unit you are hired. Next orientation starts in the middle of January. I know there is another one in early February.

I'm not familiar with MGH. But I know the next session for critical care program for new grads starts in February. I know MGH is also hiring new grads. I remembered talking to someone about the orientation program...I don't think it's as long as the one offered at BWH.

Good luck!
