I work on a med-surg floor in a small hospital right now. I would like to get into a clinic type setting; however, as an RN in a small town, the clinics do not hire RNs, but LPNs mostly. I almost have a year of experience in. Have you watched Maryville's webinar to find out more about the program? I guess our clinical hours will start the second year of the program. Right now, I work night shift, but I am for SURE hoping for a day shift position by that time so that I can do clinicals and work and not be completely exhausted all the time. Do you work days or nights?
Wow! Did you always know you wanted to go into advanced practice? If not, what made you decide on nurse practitioning? I became an RN to go into advanced practice.
I enjoy the night time atmosphere, but my body does not like nights! haha...It just makes it hard on days off b/c I always feel exhausted. How long have you been on nights? Have you felt the same about your days off? Does it get better? Thanks...
Jessica,
I have always enjoyed helping people so nursing was a logical step for me. The nurse practitioner aspect came later when I realized I wanted to be able to do more for my patients. The thought of going into graduate studies both excites and scares me. But I know becoming an F N P is the right path for me so I know it will happen. I have been working nights as long as I have been nursing.

Hello All,
I am new to this forum and I was just wondering if anyone had applied for the Fall 2013 FNP program at Maryville University? I have applied and thought it would be interesting to meet others who have as well.
