I posted this under the general student board, but didn't get any replies. I have been a nurse for almost 20 years and really want to get away from bedside nursing. I'm looking at FNP programs. I would like one that I could go to the campus if I needed help, but has flexibility with schedules. I'm looking at the FNP program at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, VA (I live in Central Virginia). It looks like it's relatively new because they just got CCNE accreditation, but Mary Baldwin University has been around for over 100 years. I talked with the program director, and they are a hybrid program with most of the course work online, but they do have on campus intensives each semester in their simulation lab. They also help with clinical placements which doesn't seem that all programs do from my research. They only accept 20 students each year and having a small class size is appealing to me as there should be more personalized attention. They are BSN to DNP right now, but will be accepting BSN to MSN students in the fall 2024 cohort. I'm on the fence about pursuing DNP right now, or getting my MSN then DNP. They also have AG-ACNP and a CRNA DNP program. Anyone in this right now or know about this program?
