Married mother of 2 who wants to attend part time nursing program at Breneau U. in Gainsvi

Published

Just wanted some infos about the school. Mostly interested in the part time nursing program. Will be commuting from Acworth. I'm married with 2 littles. I believe I can do it but wanted to see if there are anyone who has completed the program and was in similar situations. What are the hours? I know it's Tuesday Thursday classes with every other weekend clinicals. Thanks in advance.

I looked into the school just for fun. The hours on Tuesday and Thursday are 6pm-10pm I believe. Clinicals every other weekend.

The program itself is 3 years. Email the admissions office using the email address on the bottom of their website. They responded quickly and was very informative. I can't drive that far so it's not an option.

Yea GPS shows 1hr anf half but at least another 30mns for traffic. I can't believe its the only school that offers a nursing program at night in GA. Just curious what are your other options? I can't afford to quit my job as of right but i have another year to finnish pre-reqs hopefully something will change by the time I'm ready. Thanks

I won't have enough money for gas for that. Yeah, its hard to believe its the only one. I'm starting my prerequisites at my local college for Chamberlain College of Nursing. I failed LPN due to health issues and now I have a 6 month old. I'm about to turn 25 so I'm ready to get done without worrying about waiting lists.

I looked at chamberlain, it was $9000 a semester though. I haven't checked breneau to see how much tuition is. I feel the same way I have a 3 yo and almost 2 yo and I'm ready to be done with school. Good luck in your studies!

You too! Yeah, Chamberlain is very expensive. They have loans and grants for those who qualify. I'm gonna make the best of it.

What would be your plans for the kids when you start school?

I attended Brenau part time for 2 semesters. I decided to leave because the teaching style at that time wasn't to my liking. They have hired many new instructors and my old classmates enjoy it now. Brenau is expensive too. They are $890 per credit hour. Their tuition is pretty close to chamberlain. She was right about the class times and clinicals.
