Marquette Online MSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I've been planning to apply to MU's on-campus (Milwaukee) DE-MSN program, but I was wondering if anyone could speak to their experience in the DE-MSN online program? I have two young kids, and while I'm anticipating the program will be a challenge, I'm starting to wonder if the online option might offer more flexibility. What is your day to day like? Is your schedule flexible? Do you find you can transfer the information/skills you learn over to clinicals? Have the instructors been easily accessible when you have questions?

Thanks so much for your insights!

don’t do it. please don’t. you will not like school or your life. go get an associates then work your way up and save yourself.

Hello, I'm also in the process of applying for the online DEMSN program. I would like to know what was your experience there and what has made you suggest people not to apply to the online DEMSN. I will really appreciate more insight. Thank you

I graduated with my BSN (70s) and MSN in the 1980s. For my MSN I started at UWM but I just found MARQUETTE made me really understand what an advanced practice  nurse means and does. There was  an in-depth study  of the ways and means to truly provide  what a sound education program was all about. I loved my program in a classroom with a LIVE discussion - not on a time-delayed message board where you cannot see some ones face and non verbal when encouraging you in your progress or disagreeing with you.  My program for the MSN alone was 2 years. I would do it again....I got every job I applied for in 2 states. Besides my sound knowledge, saying I went to MU went a long way.  And YES people do care where you go to your school!!

I will be applying for fall 2024 and would love to chat with someone about the application process and if they would like to share any tips.
