I have been checking these threads and haven't seen anyone start one for the Maricopa CEP Summer 2023 program. Applications are going to open up in December and wanted to create a place we can all get some comfort or talk to others who will be going through the same emotions/motions. So, here is a thread for anyone who's also been searching for one!
For the CEP program, you do not have to be a CNA, but to apply to the nursing program you have to take the CNA course. After you're done, taking the course, you have the choice whether or not you want to work as a CNA or just go straight into the nursing program when you get in they are doing this because there were problems with past students not knowing the basic CNA skills. I guess there was a group of students that refused to change patients diaper because they don't know how to do it.
The CNA course says it's eight weeks but it's really six weeks it's I chose Monday and Wednesday 6 AM to 1:30 PM. The last few weeks you have a 12 hour clinical shift. You'll have four in total but you only do one a week. They do have afternoon and night and evening as well. But also depends how much more you do it at that was MCC schedule everything you buy for the CNA class you can use for your nursing classes except for your scrubs because they have to be a specific color but you don't have to have them embroidered so they can just be cheap ones.

Also how do the points work?
you have to finish the CNA course before you can apply to the program or to the waitlist. You don't have to take the state test you just have to take the course or already be a CNA or LNA.

OK so take your pre req GPA (differs based on which university you're applying to. Each university uses certain courses to calculate GPA) once you have that number multiply it by 10, then take your HESI math score and multiply it by .15 then your HESI English score and multiply it by .35 you're going to add these three figures up and that is your point score. For example mine was 3.8 x10= 38 + .96 x.15=14.4 + .89.3x.35= 31.25= 83.65 total application point score.

Thank you! That actually helped alot. I also have a bachelor's as well. That's extra points right?
No prob! I was so confused a few months ago when I was trying to calculate everything. Yes I think you get either 2.5 points or 5 points for bachelors . I saw others get in last intake with as low as like 72 points which is historically low. So if you're at least over 75 points I'd say it's really unlikely that you would not be accepted. There is also a FB group called Maricopa CEP if you're looking for more answers!!
