Hi everyone!

I talked to my university advisor today for GCU. She let me know that applications are down this intake period and they have been since COVID started (at least for Gateway). She clarified that they usually receive 900-1,000 applications, however last application cycle they only got about 850 and she said so far that number is even lower for this intake period. The lowest score Gateway accepted she said was around an 81 last intake. Hope this helps relieve some of the anxiety and I would highly recommend speaking to the university advisors! They like to get to know the new students and additionally she was so helpful and kind! ?

I’m at an 81.3 I don’t know if this makes me feel better or feel worse ? thanks for the info!

I’m sure you will get in at least to gateway! From what I have seen from the statistics posted from the nursing board they have more seats available compared to the other colleges. With applications being down that will only raise your chances ?

I have not applied yet to traditional or CEP I’m going to do it the same time one and then the other. I have been working with an SCC advisor but with family moving debating on making MCC my first choice. If anyone has applied this intake period and is willing to help me with some silly overthinking questions I have please let me know! ? 

I am so excited to finally be able to post on here! I have spent over a year retaking classes, taking my science courses and getting my GPA up for this moment LOL.

Sending the good vibes your way! I would check with your university advisor to see what the lowest intake for MCC was last application period. Honestly I was really scared to reach out to mine at first but I thought oh well.... at least I will find out if I know if I’m going to be denied now rather than living with the anxiety/fear for the next month ?They will give you a very good idea of what your chances are!

You have a great score! No input / advice on your choices since I only applied to CGCC , however to my understanding you need to have an “accepted” application in the Maricopa pool first before you can apply to the CEP program. So I would submit that ASAP since we are nearing the deadline. Hopefully someone is able to help with your questions ?. Good luck !

Hey all! I’ve been lurking for awhile before finally joining the forum. 

School: CGCC/MCC/SCC, GCU

 GPA : 4.0

HESI overall Score : 90.5%

 English Score : 90%

Math Score : 92%

Additional Points: 0

 Total points: 85.3

My main concern is that I initially submitted my application to CGCC with ASU as my university choice before realizing that I only took MAT141 and they require 142. Since the intake period is til June 7th, I resubmitted with GCU as my university choice. I’ll call when school is open tomorrow morning (today’s Memorial Day) to make sure it’s OK. Has anybody changed their university choice during the intake period and the schools still honored it for processing?

@Ilyse Hey! Those classes are actually the same thing so you did not have to change. I checked that with an advisor once.

That’s good to know! If they offered more than one university choice, either work for me. My initial app was submitted last Thursday. So hopefully I didn’t cause more of a hassle than anything. My advisor hasn’t been too forthcoming with info, so I figured I’m on my own to be sure I covered all bases. Thanks for your reply!
