Planning to apply to CRNA program for May 2025 start. Wanted to start the thread to see if anyone else is planning to apply or has already applied.

I was on a call with Sachi from the CRNA Club and she said it can come off as like a "trauma dump" (for lack of better terms) if your trying to correct everything you missed. She said if you want to clarify an answer that's okay but one to two lines at most is okay to include at the bottom of a thank you email. That could be up for interpretation depending on the person but that's the advice I received..
I know we are all being hard on ourselves but I'm sure we did better than we thought. Let's keep believing in ourselves and one day we will all be CRNAs. We got this!!
I can see that, but one of the items I didn't get wrong per se I just didn't know the follow up question and wasn't supposed to. So it was just doing due diligence and learning something new. The other was something silly to mess up haha I was a bit flustered. I experienced no trauma in my interview it was genuinely amazing so I'm glad I sent a follow up email! I'm not the kind of girl who can go to sleep with a question in my brain I have to look it up so it was only characteristic of me to include more detail/clarify!

Oh absolutely do what you feel is necessary in doing your due diligence. I so glad you came out of the interview feeling good. I definitely know what is like having something on your brain. I don't want you to feel like I was saying this about you specifically. I just wanted everyone else in the group who maybe did not feel as confident to not beat themselves up about what could be perceived as missed opportunity. I just wanted to be reassuring and say that we all showed up as best we could. We are our harshest critics and I'm sure everyone did better than they thought they did. I just want to remind everyone that they are competent and worthy of this experience! I'm wishing all of us the best of luck!!

I personally followed up both last year when I was waitlisted and this year before I was accepted. I BOMBED my interview clinical questions last year and scored 12/20 on the written test and somehow was still waitlisted.
I just wrote a personal thank you and then short APA style blurb about what I fumbled during the interview!

I will see if I can attach the link but it's one of those CRNA school prep resources. They walk you through everything having to with the whole process and have a lot of great interview resources. It's not specific to Marian but you can ask about specific universities on the live calls or through email. They frequently have guests that are usually faculty, directors or a part of the admissions committees that have a lot of good advice.

First and foremost, congratulations on being accepted, that is such a huge accomplishment!! Proud of you from afar LOL. I believe following up is always a great idea especially from year to year so they can see how you've grown and if you're receptive to feedback or not. I'm so glad that it worked out for you!!

Just to help calm nerves...
I do not know how many questions I got correct, I just wasn't keeping track. I quite honestly just fessed up when I didn't know the answer and I tried to just talk through questions I wasn't sure on. I did not feel extremely confident in my whole interview and beat myself up over fumbling through at times. I did not do any type of follow up but I was offered a seat.

Thank you for the reassurance and motivation. I think we all needed to hear that!! And congratulations!!

I'm sure you did good, now let's wait until next week. 🙏
