OK, help me out - how many doses would there generally be in, say, a 10 ml bottle of Azopt? :) Thanks..

Per my handy dandy conversion list, 1mL = 15gtt. So a 10mL bottle would have about 150gtts.

I used to be a pharmacy tech before going into nursing...we also calculated 1ml to equal 15 gtts. In nursing school we were taught 20gtts/1ml, and when I disagreed based on my former pharmacy tech experience, the instructor stated that pharmacy errs or the side of caution (drops that miss the target area for instance). So, safe bet is 15 gtts/1ml (150gtts/10ml bottle) but the bottle could have as many as 200gtts/10ml bottle. Then just divide the number of gtts in the bottle by how many gtts used per day and you'll know how long the bottle will last the pt... I always go with the 15gtts per 1ml.

It would depend on the gtt factor of the tubing you're using.
If it were an IV, yes. These are eye gtts, however. Thank you all for your replies!
