Not only can they demand that, they can monitor your employment, force testing, force psychological evaluations, and frankly, do whatever they want. (I am not being paranoid - you can look it up.)
you betcha !! they give you the license they can take it away !! yes they can do all this and more.. they are not here for us they are here for the patients .. they can do whatever they see fit to be sure the pt has a high standard of care.. they donot care about us.. they care for the patient...
Most boards require that information so they can confirm that you're actually working to keep your license active. I have to fill that out every time I renew my license.
Most other professions don't necessarily have licences that have to be renewed regularly. Those that do have their own requirements to be met.

Recently I received my state board of nursing's little magazine. In it there was a small article stating that all licensed nursing personnel were REQUIRED to give the board of nursing their employers name, address and phone number, and had only 30 days to report any changes. I contacted the BON and they sent me to a web page where apparently I must do just that.
There were no notices to that effect sent to individuals, anyway, I didn't get one.
Is that legal? Do other professions have to register whom they work for at all times? Do other states require nurses to do so? This seems very intrusive to me...but maybe it's just me.
(BTW, this is the state of Oregon, so any Oregon nurses out there...this is apparently a requirement now!)
