More questions all...
I am so in love with this career path, and someone had to try and poop on my dreams last night....
I'm gonna be in WAY deep in loans when this is over - roughly 200k. That's a private undergrad BSN plus living expenses and childcare for a toddler under 2 (the right place costs the wrong money I tell ya!) and my CRNA degree with all living expenses. Anywho, someone said to me last night that I had better be careful about all this because in the end I am going to be upside down with my malpractice insurance like MD Anesthesiologists or OBGYN's.
I have been looking at lots and lots of jobs for CRNA's and as far as I have been able to tell, this is a decent benefit provided by lots of private firms; also from other sites I have read this is not an issue for CRNA's like it is for some MD's.
Someone PLEASE tell me this person is just talking out their rear-end and that this is not an unreasonable dream for me as mom with a supportive fiancee who is going to be a doc himself.
How does CRNA malpractice insurance work - you have all been so great, thanks again for your replies...

total BS
CRNAs have very low insurance rates but more importantly, this is just about always part of a group or hospital contract. Its not even an issue

It really depends on where you decide to practice and what those practice arrangements entail. If you are an employed anesthetist, your employer is responsible for covering your professional acts. If you decide to become self employed, as an indepedent contractor, you will need to cover your own insurance and adjust your fees to allow for this business expense. I practice in the latter scenerio, and while I don't like paying the insurance, i don't find it prohibitive.
Anesthesia (both MD and CRNA) has become safer in recent years because of many factors, including advanced monitoring techniques. There are fewer lawsuits.
I would question the motives of the person telling you this. Ask for validation of the information and worry about the important things. This is not one of them.
