How many male nurses out there run the Gyno rooms, I was going to pay one of our male nurses $20.00 to run the GYN rooms one night and there were no taker. What do ya'll think, and be gentle.
I am old fashioned. I am a male nurse and I can and do cath the females. But I feel if there is female nurse around and it's not urgent then I prefer the female to do these procedures, and just as well as I will always do a male cath if asked. It's not as much my level of com
fort but a lot of females certainly prefer a female to perfrom these type of procedures. It goes back to want is best for the pt. Sure I know that the male docs perform these and that some OB-GYNs are male. But when you identify yourself as a nurse. Pts and family members see it a bit different. just my opinion

Im not old fashioned, just old. But I for one am very happy to pass they gyn exams off to either a female tech or a Nurse to assist the doctor in there. Just the way I am raised.

Ok, I'm confused.

Now, I can't tell if the OP was serious or joking, because you seem so convinced that their $20 offer was legit... this thread is turning really bizarre. I thought the OP was intended to be a joke and my first reaction was that I thought it was insulting to RNs who are male. Do you seriously think it's professional to offer to bribe an RN who is male to get him to run the gyne rooms?
