Malcolm X Spring '20

Hi!

I am applying for the Spring 2020 Nursing program at Malcolm X College, and was wondering if anyone can help me. I was wondering what the lowest GPA someone received an acceptance letter, so far have exactly 2.75 but I am worried that it's too low even though it is the minimum requirement. Like any pre-student nursing I am psyching myself out. Does anyone know what their process is with accepting students? I know they are only accepting 70 students during the spring semester. Thank you.

Honestly you should go to their information class they are every other Thursday at 1-3pm. They do consider GPA because last semester they had 700 apply and accepted 70. They are looking at TEAS and GPA for acceptance also making sure you have ALL the required documents.

Thank you, I have been to the information sessions but she’s saying exactly what’s on the website. I’ve turned everything in at this point and now I guess it just comes down to whoever turned in their requirements, that is if majority met them. Are you in the program?

Not yet, I'm applying for Fall 2020. Trying to get AP1 and my CNA out the way. I have a few friends in the program already though that's how I know.

Good luck!

I’Ve met all the requirements, and turned everything in. I guess it’s just a waiting game now. Do you know if you turned in everything, will they let you know in advance?

Im not sure I would go up there so you can talk to someone. My friend said she found out two weeks before the semester started.

Heyyyy did anyone else get an email of the orientation outline today, breaking down all the events of that day and the times and breaks and info about having to sign up for another session the following day ? From Gabriela ?

Yes, I did.

why what’s wrong

No nothing is wrong! So that means we are in, tb and drug test whatever the last conditions were have been met?

Yes! I’m waiting for them to email me if I needed another quanteferon testing because that wasn’t specified earlier and I did it back in June. The drug test I had to redo cause I did it too early.

Did you get your ID Yet? And signed up for classes?

Gotcha. yes I registered around the 9th or 10th! No I haven't even heard anything about an ID! What..

They didn’t say anything about an ID but I think I’m going to go In sometime this week to get one.

oh!! Which section did you register for??

Oh phew! I mean do you mean like the regular Malcolm X student ID? Cause that I have, I thought you meant some other specific nursing ID?

I registered for bio 227(anatomy and physiology 2) and nursing 101 mon @630, wed@1030, and fri@9am!

What about you?? I was told that was the only class we needed right now is that fundamentals course to start
