Making Heparin shots less painful for pts?

Hello all,

I am a relatively new nurse and I was hopeful that some of you might have some tips as to how I can make heparin shots less painful for my patients?

We use 1 ml TB syringes (our heparin comes in vials we have to draw up ourselves). Not many patients have complained about them that arent needle-phobes.
