I had the opportunity today to float to a lock-down inpatient psych ward.
What a whole different take on nursing! The nurses and assistants were great and the whole process was fun to watch. I don't think psych is for me but I just wanted to say that psych nurses rock. :)

I work in Canada on a locked psych unit.Everyone states''I don't know how you could work there''.I've been here 3 years and really feel now, I know what I'm doing,it did take a while. It's been a bad month though at one time we had 2 in seclusion rooms and 2 others in 4 point restraint and the other 6 point .We do promary care and the only difference between R.N'S and R.P.N'S is that they make more money.Good to work with the other ben efit of psych nurses is that we don't talk behind co-workers backs we are balls to the wa lls straight shooters(in a good way)
