Mad as heck, why make biology so hard!

Published

This is totally a childish temper tantrum, visualize me on the floor screaming and kicking!

This freaking Biology teacher is making the test so hard, 75% of what's left of my class is failing or at the border like myself. The first test most of the class was failing so she gave a 14 point curve, thank god. Second test, I did okay, barely passed because of the bonus questions, which was easier than the regular test questions. Third test, I failed as most of the students.

What ****** me off is I have been studying my butt off, all of my weekends I stay home, barely go out to cut the lawn, haven't even been to the beach yet. Totally sacaficing my summer because I know the class was going to be challenging but come on! I have 1 test and a final left to pass this class or I'm done. I can't take any other of the sciences until I pass this course.

I can understand if I was not devoting time to study, but I read and read the chapters, work practice test on line, even printed study guides and test off of the school website. What more can I do. All the students are concerned because we feel so confident that we know the material but then her test are worded in a manner that is very confusing.

One of the student mentioned this to her and you can tell she got a little offended. Forgot to mention she is a Medical Doctor, you would think we are in Medical school. What the hell is she doing teaching a basic biology course at a community college. She needs to go back in the doctors office or anywhere except in the classroom.

If I fail this class, I don't know what I am going to do. I just feel like my time and efforts are wasted because she got a bug up her.

Okay... I think i can get up from the floor now.

Just wanted to say, I feel your pain. I took a intro bio course last semester, and I ran into the EXACT same problem, lol. The tests were all multi, and the instructor gave notes and review, however, test questions were worded in the MOST confusing manner!!

Somehow, I managed to get an A....don't ask me? My guess is if you contact the instructor privately and let him/her know you will get a better response. Perhaps you will have an opportunity for extra credit. Thats what most of my instructors do.

(((Good luck)))

sometime I wish we were made out of legos...

Okay.. I had my bio lab yesterday and the teacher was a no show. We had a sub that informed us that my professor is leaving after this semester. They are not sure what is going on with her but she may go back to practicing medicine. That doesn't do much for us, but at least it saves any future students from enduring this misery.

We did have a bit of good news, the final is a departmental exam so all the teachers issue the same final test. Yippeee!!!!. We should all pass with 100% after dealing with her exams Sheesh!!!!

There is light at the end of the tunnel

sometime I wish we were made out of legos...

me too... hehe:lol2:
