good morning!!

i don't know any information about the rn-bsn but i would encourage call the nursing department: 478-471-2761 and ask questions. i know for sure you have the gpa. i'm not sure if there is an entrance exam, but please give them a call.

macon state college does not have any on campus housing. i recently went there to for an interview for the bsn program and i had the opportunity to visit the apartments across campus. they are designed to have a dorm setup. the apartment has 4 rooms and each room has a separate bathroom. there is a ridge, microwave, stove, washer, and dryer. all the utilities are included. there is a pool, game room, and little fitness center. the apartment complex is directly across the street from the nursing and business buildings. there are other apartment complexes in the area but i didn't have a chance to view them.

if you are an online person there are several rn-bsn programs online. also apply to other schools around your area. don't put all your eggs in one basket.

RunRun, have you been able to go speak to an advisor for the rn-bsn program? If not now is the time do so. They will let you know what classes you are still in need of for the program. I believe the application deadline is April 14th or sometime near there. I complete the ADN program @ MSC in a few weeks and went ahead and applied for the RN-BSN program. The tuition is affordable and depending on the area you live in rent can range from $450 for 1 bedroom to $800. I agree with csweettooth to apply to several schools so you can pick. I know that RN-BSN classes @ MSC will be held on 1 day during the week (all day) and I believe 1 class will be jointly with the new BSN students. Hope this information helps. Good luck with your decision.

Runrun I'm not sure what your financial situation is like or how your study and work habit are. But you can work full-time (36+hr/week) and go to class. The program is set up for full-time employees going back to schoo. Just wanted to let you know in case you might want to work full-time. Ansley village is a nice complex; I think its only been open a year. I would stear clear from the Apts across from campus. Personally I have not lived there but several of the nursing students who do say its loud and you can't focus sometimes because of the noise. But you may want to check it out to see for yourself. I think its affordable ($350.00 or so w/ utilities). You might like Northwood on Thomaston Rd 2-3miles from school. Get an apartment guide magazine, they are free at kroger and just tour some different ones to see what you like. There are several hospitals (medical center of central georgia, coliseum northside, coliseum medical center, houston healthcare includes perry hospital). You might be interested in clinic work or doctor's offices too (they probably pay a little less though). From my understanding the rn-bsn students is normally like 5-10 but the class entering for August is more than 20. A professor on Monday said that's a lot for them so the 1 class with the BSN students may have to be held at another place to hold all the students. The teachers are nice; they will gladly help you in anyway they can. I hope I answered most of your questions. :) :)

thanks so much... that means a lot to me. never been to macon and i'm kind of afraid moving there... hope it is not in a middle of no where haha...:)

Macon is about an 1-1.5hr from Atlanta depending on your rate of speed and traffic. Its about 2-3hr from Savannah. There's stuff do if you aren't from the area. Where are you moving from and why Macon?

Oh ok that's great. I just decided not to go to MSC for rn-bsn. I'm going to apply to school's whose programs are completely online. I think as a new nurse going back it will work out better with work scheduling. Good luck @ MSC. I think you will like it.
