Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and I plan on applying for Macomb's nursing program Feb, 2018!

Currently I am finishing intro to nursing and microbiology. I would love to meet anyone else who plans on applying.

I really want to make some friends on this journey!

Hello! I guess I will be the first to comment :-)

I am also applying to the program this February. I am finishing up my Patho class this semester. I will be taking the hesi a2 in January. Nice to meet you.

I'll be applying this winter as well! Im currently finishing up patho and a&p, and Ill be taking my HESI in December!

Hi! nice to meet you guys.

I am also finishing up A & P and patho this semester. Will be taking the HESI January 3rd

Hi guys! Just curious... is there any reason why most applicants are taking the Patho Micro over the General Micro? Is one easier than the other? I will be applying to the RN program in 2019. Best wishes to all of you applying for the upcoming year :)

General micro vs patho micro I wouldn't particularly say is easier. At Macomb you can take General Microbiology if you have taken 1400 biology. Pathogenic Microbiology doesn't require a prerequisite. I didn't want to take an extra class so I just went with Patho. :-)

Hello! I think there are a couple reasons why people choose to take pathogenic micro as opposed to general microbiology.. 1) Pathogenic micro fulfills the nursing prerequisite without having to take biology 1000 that general microbiology requires

2) Some people find it more interesting

I personally took biology 1000 and then microbiology and had a great experience. At the time I was looking to transfer and I found that pathogenic micro didn't transfer over to a lot of the local 4 year schools with nursing programs. If you know that macomb is your #1 choice and the school you're going to apply to then go for patho!

Hi!!

How did you guys do in your classes, where do you guys stand for in GPA? I'm very sad I have 2 B+ and 2 As:( makes my gpa a 3.65. I had one B + back 8 years ago, and I took micro and our teacher was just insane I was so close to an A- and would have gotten a 3.77 gpa if that was the case, so pretty bumped? Does anyone know how to calculate for the HESI? I prolly need a high 80 or in 90s

Hi Everyone, I will be applying for the February 2018 program

Has anyone taken the HESI yet? how did you guys do?

Hey everyone! I'm applying this year as well! I just finished patho micro this past fall and I took my hesi in November. I will be applying with a 4.0 and 87 Hesi. So fingers crossed!

Hi Kelli, I got an 87 on HESI and 3.8 GPA, hoping for the best !

@_fairley12 Awesome! Good luck!!
