Macomb Community College 2016

Published

Hello everyone!!! Just submitted my application, have taken my HESI, all prerequisites are finished, now the waiting game begins. I was looking for people who were also on this journey.

sorry to correct you Anna but letter were actually mailed out this morning I watched as the post man picked them up when I went to he office. Last time they said the GPA letters were mailed out on a Wednesday I got mine on a Friday so I expect a repeat in promtness. They said by Friday we should have received our letters for acceptance/denial. They ranked everyone yesterday in one day. Could be a good sign applicant numbers were down and they just breezed through it.

Not to be "doubtful", but how to know for a fact the letters you saw picked up weren't some of the junk mail letters that Macomb sends out almost weekly? How are you positive that those were the acceptance letters? And how do you know they ranked everyone in one day? They aren't even supposed to tell anyone about the process. Sorry if seem overly inquisitive.

The lady at Registration and financial aid told me that "nursing ranking letters" were just sent out haha. I wouldn't be fooling you guys. She told methe same thing when I asked when GPA letters were sent out and they arrived two days after that. She said these exact words "yesterday the counselor's finished ranking the nursing applicants and admission letter are sent out to the post office now, the mailman just picked them up(as he walked out the door) you should receive your letter tomorrow or Friday".

Omg!!! They did the ranking really fast. I hope it's a good sign 😥

I know I applied last minute this year after finishing my bachelors with a 3.88 in the 3 of 4 pre reqs but was calculated as 3.43 because I used a AP english credit.... 91 on HESI though good luck to everyone!!!

It clearly states in the nursing packet that the English that is counted in the ranking is either English 1180 or 1210. Who told you the AP class was counted? I'm just curious because I hope they didn't give you false information.

Omg!!!! Now I'm extra nervous!!!

AP english is composition 1 at any college. Usually the Junior year AP class is COMP 1 the Senior year is ENG COMP 2. To obtain college credit you have to pay the school to be eligible to take a 2-3 hour test all on the subject matter. You get awarded credit if you do well enough and if you do poorly you get nothing. These tests are tricky and are calculated as follows: If you get a 3 on an AP test = C, 4=B, 5=A, I am not that great at english just good enough to test out. So you can use AP credits in applying but will most likely hurt you because it's very difficult to achieve an 5 on these tests.

Not to switch the subject or anything but the applicants from previous years on here all posted when they got their acceptance/denial letters and what their scores were. I think we should all do the same thing on this thread!!! It will be nice to see what scores are making the cut.

What do you all think?

Sounds good to me! I am so nervous. I wish those letters would get here already!! In previous years, they got acceptance letters 2 days after ranking. Last year ranking was on a Friday so they didn't get them until The following Friday. Hoping they come sooner, rather than later. The waiting is killing me!! Good luck to everyone!

Just called and spoke to a lady, she said the letters WERE sent out yesterday so they're definitely on their way!!!!
