Macomb Community College Nursing 2013

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has registered to take their HESI in the fall and are planning to apply to Macomb's nursing program for the 2013 admission cycle!?

Let me know!

Does anyone know how many people applied this time around? Can't believe it's almost time.

I don't know how many but this wait is torture ? I called the office right before the deadline and she had already starting ranking. Hopefully, it goes quick. All she said was I am "in a good place" which helps a bit but April can't come fast enough. Although I did think the letters went out early to mid-April and she told me it's more like late April. ?

I wish she would have told you *how many had applied* at that point!! I'm so nervous and excited to see. I know my GPA is a little low so I feel like I will be just on the border from what I have seen was excepted the last 2-3 years but I'm hoping the people who have said HESI scores are down and fewer people applied this year than normal are right! Does anyone know if they work with you on payment or if its all due in one lump sum? I am paying out of pocket. Who did you call? I always seem to get crabby people who don't know much about the nursing program and can never answer any of my questions

Tuition for classes is due per semester. Just like pre-reqs, it is due by a certain time.

Can current nursing students tell me their schedules? I am trying to set aside money for day care and am wondering how many days a week most people have classes.

A lot of them are rude and clueless but there is a girl name------------- in the selective admissions office that I've talked to a few times. You usually have to leave her a message but she's always returned my call quickly. She is very knowledgable and very nice.

Everyone's schedule is different. For the first eight weeks, you have 4 classes. Your two lectures ( I heard these 2 are always at the same time) are Monday and Thursday eight to eleven. You'll have a three and six-hour lab with those, and those will be at a time selected for you. Once in and you have received your start date you'll get an email asking about preferred class times (mainly due to those who work in the hospital but for those who need childcare as well) the second eight weeks you have lectured the same days starting at nine. And you'll have one day of clinical.

So this semester I had class Monday 8-11 and 4-7. Tuesday 130-730. And Thursday 8-11.

Thank you! That is very helpful and a relief! For some reason I had it in my head that it was Monday-Friday 9-5ish. I'm glad there's at least a chance that I can squeeze it all in 3 days!

Well since she said you were "in a good place" would you mind sharing what your GPA and HESI are? My HESI is 90 but my GPA is around 3.5 when the advisor figured it out he said he wasn't exactly sure because my classes transferred weird from baker so it could be a little higher but I am so nervous!!

My GPA is a 4.0 and my HESI score is a 94.

Well, of course, you're in a good place! Your probably number 1!! I wonder if I called if they could give me my ranking GPA because the guy didn't seem too sure since it was transferring from Baker and the credit hours are totally different.
