Macomb Community College Nursing 2013

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has registered to take their HESI in the fall and are planning to apply to Macomb's nursing program for the 2013 admission cycle!?

Let me know!

Sinclairl--I was confused about the alternates too, I am further down than someone on here with lower scores than me.... Maybe she mistyped and is lower than she said because they still base alternates off the same thing there's no way shes ahead of me

I have never posted on here but have followed for the past month. I went in to get my ranking yesterday and I was 102. My GPA is 3.789 and hesi is 87. Congrats to everyone!!

Specializes in None.

Shannon, can you find me or give me a description of your profile picture? None of the Shannon Passmore's I've found on Facebook are definitely from Michigan.

I called yesterday & inquired about the same thing. They said there is no "formula" to figure out your scores. The ranking is all strictly computer based. For example, before calling I calculated my scores against someone who had a lower gpa but higher HESI and their score was lower than mine, and they're higher up on the list, but their HESI score was significantly higher than mine. I don't think their making mistakes with ranking, as it's computer based & they have no control over it. I'm sure many ppl will inquire about this particular issue at orientation, so they'll be able to give you a more thorough answer, but this is just what I've been told and is able to share.

Ranked 118! So that puts me at a January start, right?

I seriously went and added almost everyone.. Talk about a boring life I have! Lol

I was actually talking with my dad and im sure most of you will totally agree with me.. I am SO excited to start the program to meet you guys especially because I am so irritated with the students in my classes who just do not care about school and like to fly by with C's.. Atleast us Nursing students know what hard work and dedication is!

Question- On my letter it says "To start in fall of 2013" does this mean I am going to be either a August or October start? Our lovely enrollment secretaries told me it does not matter what your ranking is and that they choose for you.. Even though I thought if you are the first 40 you can start whenever you chose (obv. August) I was #10 so I was hoping I could go for August?

Mine said to "start in fall 2013" as well. I was just at the enrollment office and they said it depends on your rank lol

We should be in same class. I was ranked 102.

I will just wait and inquire and the orientation. Thanks for posting this information.
