MA hospitals w/ tuition remission?

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hi,

I've heard that a few hospitals in MA provide tuition remission for nurses. Does anyone know which hospitals do & if so, what the programs are?

Thanks!

BI gives 3,000 a year to rn students

I've been researching the same thing myself, since I want to work at a place (after graduation) that will reimburse (or even better, remit) tuition for graduate school. I'm going to have a lot of student loan debt after I'm done with my current program, so I probably won't be able to afford more debt for a private MSN program without assistance. It's kind of ironic that most every Boston area hospital I've looked at doesn't offer their nurses substanial tuition reimbursement (ie >$5000/yr). For example, the BI's tuition reimbursement for employees is something like $1500/yr for FT employees ($750 for PT)- which increases to about $2 grand after 5 years. Lahey has some sort of "tuition assistance" program, although they don't say how much/yr. By comparison, HUP/UPenn in Philly offers their nurses up to 100% pre-paid tuition assistance, and Hopkins offers up to $10,000/yr (I think), which is pretty darn attractive. I grew up in MA, love Boston, and loved working at the hospital I worked at, but I don't know how I could handle the tuition bills for grad school without some substantial assistance from my employer (barring any scholarships).

Oh yeah, the BI does have a program where they will pay for select employees to go to the Mass Bay CC's ADN program. I've never heard about them offering $3 grand a year to RN students, though.

I work at BI now and they give 3000 a year if you work fulltime and you have to get a C in order to quailfy and must maintain your hours but you have to pay first pass get money in your paycheck that they tax heavily.

In regards to that program at BI ou already have to be an employee and can't have any prerequisites done your desire to be a nurse must have come to you while working in the kitchen or something

I also work at BI and it is $3000.00 a year for anyone furthering their education in a patient care related field. I am currently using the program to complete my BSN and a few nurses on the floor are using it to complete their MSN. Also they have a yearly academic scholarship that they give out.
