LVNs in nicaragua?

Published

Need more detailed info if there are lvns in nicaragua. Are there jobs for a US lvn? Any certification classes to further career like here in the US such as wound nurse, mds, etc.? Any bridging programs? If anyone knows or can direct me to other links for more info would really appreciate it.

LVNs do not exist in Nicaragua.

Where did u get this info? I need it for legal matters and need proof of this fact..ive tried looking into it myself but there is pretty much nothing i can find online regarding this...

If you look up the topic of LPN/LVNs, you will find that the job category pretty much originated in the US formally around 1892 and the title is recognized in the US, Canada, NZ, and Australia. It is no longer recognized in the UK and does not exist elsewhere. An exception is that PN courses have cropped up recently in the Philippines, although PNs have not been used in that country.

Try to find a blog by "Ayla C. Landry" on google. She is a nurse who was visiting in Nicaragua. She visited one of the three university nursing programs and stated in her blog that there are three levels of nursing education there: nrsg asst; general nurse (3 yr education equivalent to PN/VN); and licensed nurse (equivalent to RN). I could find nothing formal in her blog to cite. So, apparently, there is a practical nurse equivalent in Nicaragua.

You cannot find any info online because LVNs 'no existe' in Nicaragua. Even their 'general nurse' designation is not equivalent to the US LVN role because it requires more years of education there.
