LVNS can make the money...

Hey to all those weary of the lvn salary; people are always trying to down lvns and say it takes Rn to bank the bucks, soo not true. My husband got his LVN with 3mths experience in a nursing home went to homehealth. Let me just say some of the RNS that have been with these companies 5 yrs+ don't make as much as he does. It's your repore with the company and the pts. He is great with all his pts, and you have to be flexible and wanna work, but the money is there. We're living proof. Yay! I graduate very soon, and with the 2 of us as nurses we will live comfortably. I just hope that people who are in the nursing profession are not just in it for that, but to also make a difference. One more thing I'm not saying settle LVN we will both continue to go further in the health profession, this was for those who are being discouraged to go LVN.

I didnt see this thread before I posted the personal best $$ one. I agree the money is there you just have to go get it or find it. I get 34 an hour agency and that pays double for holidays so I did one on Labor day. I am pool elsewhere that pays 30/hr but OT for anything over 8 hours in a day so I do doubles. It adds up. DH carries the benefits but even he gets 28.41 an hour because he works every weekend 7p-7a.
