LVN wanting to get away from home health.

U.S.A. Texas

So I've been working in home health going on 2 years. The agency I work for is so disorganized, and lacks communication and professionalism. The pay is great, and overtime is there when you need or want. The problem is they don't have enough nurses and that means I'm stuck picking up shifts and barely getting time off. The parents start depending on you as their "sitter" instead of nurse. And it's getting too personal with the parents where they start expecting way more than the required...for example leaving their newborn after feeding them and putting them to sleep while they "run to the store to grab a couple of things"... I need to get out now... I've been applying non stop to different jobs but it seems that the majority of jobs for lvns are in home health. Any suggestions for jobs in the Dallas area for lvn that is not in home health?

I suggest looking on Indeed.com. That's where I got many calls from facilities in the DFW area within days. I was in the same predicament as you. I use to do all the extra shifts with my HH agency but I stopped once I realize its not really showing. I decidied to apply for the transition program soon because I want to expand my opportunites. I live the convience of HH but sometimes it draining with all the extra and feeling undervalued with the same issues you having.
