My instructor told me RN students can work as CNAs after their first semester. I was wondering if this is true of LVN students because I am eager to work in a hospital envrioment.

I've noticed a lot of CNA positions at the hospital I volunteer at say....
"CNA certification or 2 semesters of clinical experience in nursing school required"... I think it all depends on where you are applying and what their qualifications are...

Some LPN schools offer the CNA test after the first semester. Ask your instructors because they should have the information you need. I would try not to do too many shifts while in nursing school because it can be very physically demanding job...maybe just do weekends, unless you really need the money.

I thought it is usually one semester of clinical experience of nursing school. I did not know some schools did two semesters.

The requirements probably vary from state to state.
In California, CNA certificates are issued by the Dept of Health Services.
