LVN to RN program at AVC

Hello...just wanting to start a thread to see if anyone has any info they can provide about Antelope Valley Community College's LVN to RN bridge program? Little about me...I was a faithful COC student for 5 years and when I applied to the program, I got a ridiculous lame denial. I am super disappointed but oh well, so I applied to AVC in March of this year. I called the Nursing Office and was told that I am #53 on the waitlist. Not sure what that means. Do I get ready for fall 2018? or assume it will be sometime in 2019. From what I gather, I need to call them weekly for waitlist # updates to see if I have moved up but I am curious on what others can share about their experience. By the way, I paid to take the TEAS VI and passed successfully 1st attempt. My pre-reqs are all done but 2 (philosophy and a history class) that I plan to take online this summer. Any advice given is appreciated...thank you

Don’t worry everyone! Patience is the key right now. I know it’s hard to not think about it, but if we all waited 2 years or so already, then what’s a few more weeks ? My advice would be for all of us to focus on getting our physicals, shot records, titers, PPD tests and all other necessary documents in advance, so when we do get that letter and pass background we will have all the necessary documents ready to go! Until then, everyone have a good Easter and keep on having faith.

It does have to be this week!!!! Priority registration begins 5/1. So I would advise that you all make sure you are registered at AVC Summer 2019. This would ensure your registration status at the start. Even if you don't start this summer, it is still better to be safe than sorry. I don't think letters have gone out yet either. This week is OUR week! ?

I wasn't cause the last class that I took was last fall. So thank god, I caught on and made sure to complete my registration before the madness begins. It has to be this week. I mean how can we do a physical exam, blood titers, TB tests in a short period? The deadlines are about to be real.
