LVN to RN Excelsior College-Texas resident

Updated:   Published

Hi fellow healthcare heros :D. I am aiming to complete my ADN bridge Dec 2022 and I'm getting nervous. As a TX resident, I may take the NCLEX-RN and once I pass, obtain a provisional RN license. I understand that the BON requires me to complete 500 hours under a preceptor. There is not much information about this online and was wondering if anyone has experience with this particular scenario. If you have any knowledge about this process, I would greatly appreciate it.

Yes def. I'm taking psychology also. trying to get all pre classes done by the end of Summer to start up nursing in fall.

@melyeebee Would you mind telling me what happens with the provisional license? I'm about to graduate, I need to know what form the preceptor needs to fill out so I can read it and make sure my job qualifies. Please help! TxBON is so vague with the response and will not give me an answer.
