I am applying to TVCC this fall and worried about the point system for the LVN-RN bridge program. . the maximum amount of points is 14 but I am not sure where the cut off usually runs. I am trying to figure out what my chances are of actually getting accepted (though I will put in my application regardless).
Does anyone have any advice or knowledge on this?
I am also looking to apply to other LVN-RN programs in the Dallas, TX area that do not require college algebra/statistics or chemistry. . I haven't taken either of those courses yet, and to be honest I am just in a hurry to get my RN license so that I will at least have more career opportunities in this area while I go back to school for my BSN.. [the Dallas area job market is extremely competitive for us new LVN's!] So far it looks as though Trinity valley, El Centro, Collin, and Weatherford do not require these courses. .
Please give your honest opinions, suggestions, and feel free to share any personal experiences. Thanks in advance!!

In the state of Tx, you are going to have a hard time finding an RN program that does not require Algebra or chemistry... and all BSN programs require Statistics in some form. The state Higher Education Coordinating Board establishes requirements for degree programs & in TX, this means that BS program core includes algebra as well as TX history and government.
Rather than duplicating efforts, it would be simpler to just take those courses now if you want to eventually get a BSN.
