Hello!
I've applied to the LVN to BSN cohort at National University in SD that begins in January 2013. Anyone else there apply, too? I'm currently waiting for an email so I can take the TEAS.
I was told the same thing IsnMichelle1. My advirsor told me to take the TEAS without studying to see where I stood and so I could see how the test is. I scored horribly and now I don't know what to do. The science portion was crazy. The TEAS V book did not prepare me for the science part at all. The actual test went so in depth.
They calculate the TEAS points by dividing your TEAS score by 100 then multiply by 30(% weight). If you want to calculate your science base points just take your GPA multiply it by 10, divide by 28 then multiply it by 30 (% weight). I've been calculating my score to see where I'm currently at. I have read in other forums that for NU students normally get in with their points ranging in the mid 80's on up.
I wonder how the essay portion will be. Someone said they extended this cycle because they didn't have enough applicants. I hope we all get in. It's so exciting and nerve racking. Has anyone calculated their score so far? I'm nervous going into the program because I have never worked as an LVN and afraid that I will fall behind in class.
Nah sami you wont fall behind iys all the same they will expect you to know the fundamentals. Plus you get a whole new family! In my lvn classes we often got togethet to go out for dinner or work on projects its fun. Im not exactly sure how to caculate everything but I have a 4.0 in all pre reqs so I guess that counts for 30 points. This,is my first time applying and I have taken the courses once so I guess thats 20 points (20%) just gotta get thru the teas and the essay!

Ahh thats horrible that an advisor gave you incorrect information! 72 isnt that bad a score though. Do you think the study book corrleated with the actual test? It seems pretty vague over all though challenging at the same time especially the math and chemistry portion!
Does anyone know how the essay is set up? If it is on a computer does the program have SPELLCHECK!?!?!? AHHHHHHH!
