I'm currently in the LVN program at Navarro. I'm loving it. It's just a preference on whether to go the lvn or rn route. I plan to bridge over, simply because I'll need to work in between. I have heard however that the LVN program is more strenuous than the straight RN program, but the instructors say that the LVN's will have the advantage bridging over because of their experience. Hope this helps. I wouldn't worry too much about your GPA, your well over the required.
Thanks, I hope you are right.
Do you know the application deadline for Fall 2011? I will be out of state until next week, so I plan to attend the information session on the 29th. I assume the deadline is after that.
I would like to think if I do well on the Accuplacer then I have a good chance, but you can never be too sure.
I am with you, I am considering the LVN route just so I can start working soon and I will continue on from there.
Thanks for your help.
I attended the Nov. info session for the LVN program at Navarro. The deadlines are: Feb. 18 for the application request (you'll get this form at the info session)
March 25 for the application submission deadline.
You have to go to the info session and get a packet. You fill out and mail in the application request form along with several other papers they want. You'll be mailed an application, fill it out and mail that back in.
She said it would be June before they mailed out acceptance letters.

Does anyone know anything about any of these programs?
How competitive are they?
I wasnt the best college student when I first started out. Unfortunately my GPA suffered and I have right at a 3.0 in most of my sciecnce courses and overall it is not much better.
I went to school for 2 years, got my AAS then I went to the military for 5 years and am trying to start all over. I ultimately want my BSN but I want to start somewhere and just move on.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
