Hi everyone! I'm a recent graduate of the University of Virginia's nursing school, and am really interested in working at Lucile Packard! I haven't been able to find much information about the program, including who to contact for more information, so I figured I'd try to at least connect with other new grads in my shoes. Anyone else thinking of applying here? Do you guys know anything about when we can apply or anything?

For anyone who is interested and is seeing this, the application is live as of yesterday! There were a couple of bugs, but I think it's working pretty well now. Per HR, it'll be open until Jun 25, so there's time! I'd love to hear from anyone else applying :)

I applied and so far they've contacted one of my references. Has anyone else heard anything?

I haven't heard anything yet! It's interesting that they contacted your references even though we uploaded letters of recommendation. Do you remember what day you applied? It's probably a good sign if they're talking to your references, congrats!

Yeah I thought it was pretty fast also, they sent them an e-mail to accept the referral. I'm really hoping I at least get an interview, It has been pretty tough looking locally in bay area. I applied the day before it closed.

Nothing yet for me. No reference check either, but they did check my referral. My friend works there and as soon as I submitted my application it sent her an automatic email to confirm that she knows me.

I'm very eager to hear back since LPCH is my top choice so if anyone hears anything please let us know!

Yep - so pretty sure the "reference check" that mommy_endeavor was talking about is actually an internal referral check (in case anyone hadn't picked up on that yet). I have a couple of internal referrals (I used to work at LPCH) and I confirmed they automatically receive an email to confirm that they know you (as per what oaknurse mentioned) once you submit your application - so it's an immediate thing. So everyone take a deep breath! :cool:
