Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital New Grad RN Residency- Fall 2020

Published

Hi! Does anyone know if LPCH will still be opening up their new grad app for the Fall 2020 cohort or if it will be delayed due to the pandemic? I know the app should be opening up in April but their website still has the info from the past cohort period.

HAHAHA that’s why I don’t want to call! But I am getting pretty impatient. According to the CA BRN website, it takes 10-12 weeks for them to process applications and I’m at week 10 and still nothing. Wbu?

it took me 16 weeks to get my ATT ?

My interview was exactly 1 week ago, so I think I'll give it by the end of today and then email! This waiting game is no fun but I understand it's part of the process haha

Smart thinking! Mine was back on the 23rd but they said we’d be contacted by this past Friday. I just got my PALS/ACLS certs via email so thought I’d incorporate that so it’s not just me asking what’s up LOL. Should I email her now or wait until later today too. And amen to that hahaha

OMG! It’ll be 12 weeks for me this Friday. LOL, I’m going to call the BRN once it surpasses that mark but now I’m not too hopeful LOL

I would email her now! Especially since they said you'd be contacted by a certain time frame. And yess include the PALS/ACLS certs in your email haha. I would do the same!

I got a oral (not written yet) offer from labor and delivery. My application for California has been approved but no ATT form yet. I call BRN every two days requesting they send it to me and they still haven’t. I’m hoping I don’t lose this job by not getting my license by the 16th.

This is exactly what I am scared of!! How many weeks are you at?

Honestly, I feel like they can or at least should be understanding with COVID. Everything since March has been crazy, I think they’d take it into account.

My application was approved on July 24th. And it took them 13 weeks to approve my application too!! And then once we take it, it takes 2-4 weeks for them to process your results and give you your license. My guess is that we won’t lose our jobs because they had already interviewed us and gone trough all the paperwork etc. plus, the first week or two of our residency is hospital training and computer charting training, not patient care.

Oh okay, gotcha! Yes I am thinking the same thing. I am really hoping they would be understanding since this is totally out of our control. Hoping we should be okay! I am glad you at least got your application approved. Mine is still pending.

Yes I am hoping they can be understanding! I feel like this delay has to do with COVID as well..
