My feet hurt.... and my back.... and my head and legs. I am sorry but Jhaco ain't got nothin" on The Office of long term care. The survey is going well, I had a flawless med pass with three observers up my butt:eek: . The surveyors are nice and complimentary and all but.....
ARGH ! I don't think I can stand 2 more days !!! They are making me crazy ! All of the staff is nuerotic and jumpy which in turn freaks the poor residents out.... it is just insane ! It's like healthcare on speed- you just run your butt off all day long getting this or that and jumping thru hoops and nothing is ever "done". Ok so it's like that all the time but MY GOD! Everyone has lost their ever-lovin' mind.

It's been my experience that they pick the residents with the biggest issues, such as the ones who are brittle diabetics and those with behavior problems, to review. They also pick ones they reviewed during the previous year's visit, to see if things have improved. And of course, there will ALWAYS be some piece of documentation that hasn't been done, some intervention that hasn't been tried, and they jump all over you about it. Again, I say if I ever have to deal with a state survey again in this lifetime, it will still be too soon!
They picked a doosie today to interview. This woman has never complained to US, is hot racked for non compliance, refuses to be turned /repos, get oob, get a bath, nothing. Then told the inspector that Aides refused to touch her. We are in this lady's room all day long day in day out and it is documented as such -pleading with her to at least let us put on heel protectors, etc. NADA. Now we get to bust out the c/o resolution paperwork. Nice. So there are two hours of red tape and Thank God the doc was just here the other day, noting behaviors in his notes too.
Later today I asked said resident if there was anything we could do..... she says " Oh no honey, you girls are soo good to me:stone . They leave tommorow:D
