Ltc rn jobs in kansas

Published

I am a new grad that is currently working in a psychiatric ED because I haven't been able to find a job working where I want, in LTC. Does anyone know of any facilities hiring for RN's in or near Olathe, KS? Please help....I really want to find something that fits my job needs better.

Thanks,

Deb

I'm sorry, I don't have anything helpful to add, but your post caught my attention. I would love to switch places with you! I currently work in LTC and am not crazy about it--I've been DYING to work in psych since I was in nursing school!!! Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for.

:) Thanks. I figured I would enjoy psych...especially since I couldn't find anything in LTC. But, it isn't at all what I thought it would be like. It's very difficult to feel close to your patients or even really get to know them that well....partly because I am in the ED I think. I may just talk to the Nurse Manager about moving to a unit, because maybe there I can find more of the type of work I enjoy.

In Olathe, I would try Olathe Good Samaritan @ 151st and I-35, they are hiring for lpn/rn charge nurses I have a friend who got hired there fresh out of school. Manorcare in OP is hiring that is advertised on this site under employment, but between the two I would definitely go with the first. Keep an eye on job boards like craigslist, career builder, and the website for every lct facility you have heard of. Also I have heard good things about John knox village, but that's in lee's summit, not sure if your licensed in MO. Big places like that always have openings. For better results I would suggest posting this in Kansas under region tab, If it weren't on the front page cause it is new I wouldn't have ever seen it. Good luck, hope that helps!

Thanks! I will look at both of the ones you suggested. I would love John Knox Village but, although I am licensed in Mo, I would rather stay closer to home. So, thank you for your help....I really appreciate it! :)
